Tunnel Mountain Summit Trail
A favourite jaunt for any hiker looking to get above Banff, the park’s smallest official mountain offers a hiking experience more substantial than its size might portray. Follow the pleasant trail snaking its way up the hillside to a change of scenery on the rounded mountaintop. A rocky outcrop makes a perfect resting place for exhilarated hikers to take in the town below and the curve of train tracks and vibrant marshes and forests beyond.
From back down in town, look with new eyes at the shapely mountain whose Indigenous name translates to Sleeping Buffalo.
